Webinar: Gender Fluidity and Detransition among 2SLGBTQ+ Young People
Tuesday June 17th 1-2:30pm EDT. Webinar hosted by YouthRex and will be facilitated by members of the DARE research team: Kinnon MacKinnon, Ari Para, MacGregor Goodman, and Madeline Rosen.
For some people, sexuality and gender can be fluid and not something that necessarily stays the same forever.
Young people may experience their sexuality and gender identity in different ways at different moments in their lives. For some, this can include processes like detransition (someone who experiences a shift in identity after an initial gender transition) and retransition (someone chooses to transition again later, or shifts from a binary trans identity to nonbinary).
The DARE (Detransition Analysis, Representation, and Exploration) study is the largest 2SLGBTQ+ community-engaged project to ever examine detransition, retransition, and shifts in identity post-transition in Canada and the United States.
Join YouthREX for this webinar featuring some of the researchers behind the DARE study, who will share recent research and care guidance toward working with 2SLGBTQ+ young people who have fluid gender identities/expressions.
In this engaging webinar, researchers will present the most relevant findings, focusing on insights and strategies for addressing the needs of 2SLGBTQ+ youth with experiences of detransition, and promoting ongoing support, understanding, and wellbeing.
This session is ideal for practitioners and community members who are dedicated to fostering supportive, inclusive environments for youth. To share emerging knowledge and insights about experiences, results of the DARE study have already been presented to over 3,000 care providers and 2SLGBTQ+ community members.
