I appreciate that a good faith effort is being put into understanding detransitioners, why they detransition, and how they can be better supported by the medical community as a result. Thank you for doing this work. I can’t imagine it’s easy in this political climate.
Was there a stated hypothesis the survey was attempting to confirm, or was it simply exploratory?
Were any ideas other than those confirming the assumed paradigm explored?
For instance did you compare actual sexual behavior Vs stated or identified orientation?
Surveys particularly on sexual topics are notoriously “say what was wanted to be heard” . Were there any confirmatory surveys possible or multiple inputs from the same person over time to understand the stability of the response?
This paper aims to describe the sampling and recruitment decisions, removing bots/frauds from the dataset, and brief socio-demographics. Additional papers present specific analyses. Yes the survey itself contains many behavioural questions and validated questionnaires. The objectives of the study are available at www.thedarestudy.com.
